Become Involved!

We would be delighted to have you join us in our activities. If there are any ministries, programs or committees which interest you, please complete the Registration form located at the entrance of the church. We are always looking for parishioners willing to donate one or more hours per week in different ministries. A listing of our ministries follows.

The Liturgy Committee

Lisette Laroche, Gwen Walsh, Hélène Bourdon, Lorène Kayser, Anne Hurtubise, Joanne Levesque, Fr Paul McKeown.

The Liturgy Committee is co-chaired by Lisette Laroche and Gwen Walsh. If you are interested in joining the preparation teams for the English Eucharists, you would be most welcome. They are always looking for people to help serve, to proclaim God’s Word, to be Ministers of Communion, to greet people, to assist with the collection and the Offertory Procession.

Baptisms

Infant Baptism Team

Deacon Ricardo Santiago is the Coordinator of a team which prepares families and young people for the Sacrament of Baptism. They are always delighted to welcome new members on their team which is vital to our community. (Deacon Gilles Ouellette heads up the identical team in the French sector of this Parish).

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

Yet another dynamic team welcomes new members to this important ministry at the Cathedral. These committed Catholics assist young adults and adults in exploring the Catholic faith in this process which leads to the celebration of Baptism or Confirmation in the case of those already baptized. It is a unique process which transforms those ministering as much as those exploring.

Marriage Ministry

Jean-Guy Bourgeois heads up the Celebration Preparation Team. This ministry organizes the practices for all the Wedding Celebrations at the Cathedral, including preparing those who will proclaim readings or offer prayers and all others who will play a role in the event.

Music Ministry

The Cathedral has an extensive musical program. Michel Guimont is the Music Director of the Cathedral and the Organist is Jennifer Loveless. The Youth Choir alternates with the Women’s Choir, under the direction of Joan Fearnley at the 9:00 a.m. Eucharist. The Senior French Choir sings at the 10:30 a.m. Eucharist and the Senior English Choir sings at the noon Mass. Cantors provide singing leadership at all other weekend special Eucharists. The choirs sing from September to June on all the Sundays of the year. If you are interested in any aspect of the musical program, please contact Michel Guimont, through the Parish Office.

Pastoral Care

Judith Anderson heads up the Pastoral Care Team, which works closely with the Pastor. Those involved in this ministry care for the sick, the bereaved, the afflicted and the needy. The team is always happy to welcome new members, and especially grateful to be informed of any needs where they might be helpful.

Coffee Sunday

Lucy Bebee heads up a large committee of faithful parishioners who organize these gatherings on the last Sunday of each month, after the 9:00, 10:30 and 12:00 Masses. This is a wonderful way for us to meet fellow parishioners and become more involved in parish life. They are always happy to welcome new helpers.

The Annual Bazaar & Crafts Group

The Annual parish Bazaar takes place in early November of each year. A very large committee, coordinated by Lucy Bebee, works year-round in preparation for one of the city’s largest Bazaars. If you would like to join them, or donate any items, they can be reached through the parish office.

The Knights of Columbus

Under the leadership of the Grand Knight, Michael Watts, these dedicated Catholic men assist in the charitable and liturgical works of the parish. New members are always welcome to contact them through the parish office.

The Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary, under the direction of Blanche Foley-Gareau, holds a meeting at the office of the Cathedral every Tuesday afternoon.
